Lamb Talk
By Dixie McClintock
“Hi! My name is Precious. What’s yours?”

The dirty little lamb hung her head and said in a whisper, “Don’t Know.”

“Well, Dontknow, it’s nice to meet you. Where are you going?”

“Don’t know. I’m lost.”

“Oh dear! Well, you’re not lost now, ‘cause you’re here with me and I’m not lost. I know where I am. I’m in the good Shepherd’s flock. ...”

And so begins this wonderful introduction to ‘Precious’, the narrator of sorts, in this delightful book from Dixie McClintock. This is a book for children of all ages. Your young children will settle in comfortably when you begin to tell the stories of Jesus, our Good Shephard, from a lambs point of view. The kids will be held attentive and you will not want to stop reading!

Dixie McClintock loves bible stories and bible studies. She loves the Lord above all else and so did not even question the odd words she heard as she prepared, in March of 2007, to begin a bible study in the Gospel of John. “I heard in my spirit”, Dixie will tell you, “What would this story of the Good Shephard sound like from the lamb’s point of view?”

Immediately Dixie began to hear the ‘lamb’ telling her stories about it’s Good Shephard and within 3 weeks she had received thirty-three such stories. “These were stories about the lambs in the Good Shephard’s flock, telling me of their relationship to Him and each other.”  Dixie goes on to explain how different this is to the Bible studies she is used to preparing but how, in the most simple way, we are all learning about the wonderful love of Jesus Christ. “These books can speak to the youngest at heart and even those a little older who perhaps don’t have a good understanding of just how much we are loved by our heavenly Father.”  So we will let the young lambs; Precious, Trusty, Freely Gives, Joy, Sunshine and all their friends, tell us their stories and bring us, in a sweet simple way, to the feet of our Good Shephard, Jesus Christ.

“One day I asked the Good Shephard why He took such good care of me. ‘Because that’s what love does, Precious,’ He replied, ‘...That’s what Love does.’“
